LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE FOR THE BODY!

There is a popular saying “LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE FOR THE BODY!”, it really is! If you laugh every day, it’s just like taking medicine. The only differences are, there is no side effects and it is far less expensive.

One of the best stress reliever God has ever created is laughter. It releases endorphins that make us feel better.

Laughter is so contagious, when you laugh with someone, even a stranger, they more often than not laugh back in return.

Laughter can make you stay young. It is said that when ever you laugh the youth hormone is stimulated 87 percent. The youth hormone slows down the aging process and makes us stay younger for longer.

The laughter hormone that stimulate the immune system and lowers our blood pressure will just stay unused in our body if we do not laugh every day.

Our immune system is made up of millions and millions of cells. Some of these cells only purpose is to attack and kill anything that is harmful and foreign to the body like viruses and bacteria.

They are called NK Cells or Natural Killer Cells.

Research shows that all humans develop cancerous cells in their body every single week. These NK Cells go find them and make sure they are destroyed.

But negative emotions like fear, worry, depression, anxiety, weaken the NK Cells. The same research shows that people who are upbeat, positive and laugh regularly, not only have more NK Cells, but their activity is increased.

When we live under stress, sour and depress, we are opening ourselves to sickness and disease.

Laughter increases the brain function.

Humour helps to stimulate the brain.

We normally use the left side of the brain, but when we laugh we use the right side. This study shows people who have a hard time solving a problem they have been stuck trying to unravel for a long time. If for some reason they would laugh, it would stimulate the brain and they would be much more likely to solve that problem.

The bottom line is this, if you cultivate a sense of humour and laugh daily, you are going to be more creative with fresh ideas and be much more effective.

Not all fats are alike, you can eat fat and lose weight. It sound like we are faced with a dilemma here.

Fat is to put it bluntly, fattening.

The more fat we eat, the more fat we eat the more calories we consume, and the more difficult it is to lose weight.

But if we cut down on fats, we also cut out the essential fatty acids and the fat-soluble vitamins.

What if there was a fat that had fewer calories than other fats and actually promoted better health – would you be interested?

Sound like a pipe dream, doesn’t it? Well it’s not! There is actually a fat that can do that.

That fat is found in coconut oil.

Replacing the fats you now consume with coconut oil may be the wisest choice you can ever make to lose weight.

We often thin the less fat we eat, the better for our health.

However, you don’t necessarily need to reduce your fat intake, you simply need to choose a fat that is right for you, one that do not contribute to weight gain.

You can lose excess unwanted body fat by eating more saturated fat from coconut oil, and less polyunsaturated fat from processed vegetable oils.

All fats, whether they are saturated or unsaturated, from the cow or from the corn, contain the same number of calories.

The Medium-Chain Fatty Acids (MCFAs) in coconut oil, however, contains a little less.

Because of the small size of the fatty acids that make up coconut oil, they actually yield fewer calories than other fats.

Coconut oil has at least 2.56 percent fewer calories per gram of fat than Long-Chain Fatty Acids (LCFAs). This means that if you use coconut oil in place of other oils, your calories intake will be lower.

This small reduction in calories is only part of the picture. The type of calories coconut oil contribute is in effect closer to that of carbohydrate because coconut oil is digested and processed differently from other fats.

Adding coconut oil to your diet can be the gate way to help you lose weight. But bear in mind that even though coconut oil can speed up your metabolism, if you overeat you will still gain weight.

The best way to lose weight with coconut oil is to add it to a real sensible balanced diet.

Only those people who can carefully watch what they eat, stick to it, exercise regularly and get enough night sleep, will keep the weight off permanently.

Understanding fats and oils for healthy living

I want to start by looking at the terms Triglycerides and Fatty Acids

Often times doctors use the term lipid in referring to fat. Lipids in general term that includes several fatlike compounds in the body.

By far the most abundant and the most important of the lipids are the triglycerides. When we speak of fats and oils we are usually referring to triglycerides.

What is the difference between fats and oils?

The term fats and oils are usually used interchangeably. However, the only real difference between the two is that fats are considered at room temperature, but oils remains liquid.

For example, Lard would be referred to as a fat, while corn oil is called an oil.

Both never-the-less are fats.

The fat that is a nuisance to us, the type hangs on our arms, looks like jelly on our thighs, and form a spear tire around the waist is composed of triglycerides.

It is triglycerides that make up our body fat, and the fat we see and eat in our daily diet.

About 95 percent of the lipids in our diet, from both plants and animals sources are triglycerides.

Triglycerides are made up of individual fat molecules known as fatty acids. It takes fatty acids molecules to make a single triglycerides molecules.

Fatty acids are linked together with a single glycerol molecule.

There are different types of fatty acids which scientists grouped into three categories namely: Saturated, Monounsaturated and Polyunsaturated.

Each category contains several members. So there a many different types of saturated fats,similarly there are many types of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated.

Each of the fatty acids, regardless of whether it is saturated or not, affects the body differently and impact our health differently.

Therefore, one saturated fat may have severe impact on our health, while another may improve our health. The same is true of polyunsaturated and monounsaturated.

Olive oil is composed mainly of monounsaturated fatty acid called oleic acid. But not all monounsaturated fats are healthy.

Another monounsaturated fatty acid, known as erucic acid is extremely toxic to the heart, more than perhaps any other fatty acids known.

The chemical difference between the two is very slight. In a similar way some polyunsaturated fatty acids can also seriously affect our health.

On the other hand, the saturated fatty acids found in coconut oil have no harmful effects on our health, instead it actually promote better health.

No dietary oil is purely saturated or unsaturated

All natural fats and oils consist of a mixture of the three classes of the fatty acids. To say an oil is saturated or monounsaturated is a gross oversimplification.

Olive oil is often called “Monounsaturated” because it is primarily monounsaturated, but, like all vegetable oils, it also contains some polyunsaturated and saturated fat as well.

The table below shows the amount of each kind of fatty acid found in different fats and oils.

Animal fats are usually the highest in saturated fat. Vegetable oils contain all three categories of fats namely saturated, monounsaturated, and polyunsaturated.

Most vegetable fats are high in polyunsaturated fats, with the only exception being palm and coconut oils which are very high in saturated fat.

As shown in the table, coconut oil contains as much as 92 percent saturated fat, which is more than any other fat.

Everyone was becoming concerned, and any product containing coconut oil or palm oil was criticized as being “unhealthy.”

By the 1990s, the tropical oils market has reduced to a fraction of what it used to be.

The promoters of this media craze proclaimed a victory in their fight against tropical oils.

Unfortunately, this war of oils, made everyone in America and other parts of the world, its victim.

Tragically, the oil that replaced coconut and palm oils was hydrogenated vegetable oil (primarily from soybean). This is one of the most health-damaging dietary oils in existence – therefore, the only people who benefited from the well planned health craze were those in the soybean industry.

The hydrogenated replacements contain as much saturated fat as the tropical oils, but they are not made from easily digested Medium-Chain Fatty Acids (MCFA) like those found in coconut oil.

They are composed of toxic trans fatty acids.
